No Knead Chai & Date Bread
I enjoy making this no knead chai and date bread recipe because I’m usually rushed for time. It’s quick, it’s easy and you let the dutch oven do all the work.
In this version, I replaced the water with chai concentrate to allow my body to enjoy a little extra spice 😄 The addition of dates adds a hit of natural sweetness. Raisins and dried apricots are also recommended. You can also check it out in this video.
If you’re baking hot cross buns this weekend, consider replacing your wet ingredients with chai flavours instead. You won’t regret it!
3 c wholemeal flour
1 c chopped dates (optional)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp yeast
1.5 c chai concentrate
Mix dry ingredients together & make a well. Stir in the chai & dates and mix to combine to form a thick dough.
Cover and let it test in a warm spot for 12 - 24hrs.
Preheat oven at 230C song with your dutch oven for 30 mins.
Meanwhile, roll dough on to a floured baking paper and shape to a round dough. Let sit until the dutch oven is heated.
Place dough with parchment into the pan and pop the lid on. Careful not to burn yourself!
Bake for 30 mins. Remove cover then bake for another 10-15 mins.
Enjoy as is or lathered with butter. YUM 😋
